4.1 Lessons for Emerging Leaders: Part 1

Lessons for emerging Leaders. It's a Hard Road when a Leaders Journey Begins. It's this journey and the lessons on it, which form the basis of my interview with Martin West. Martin, along with his co-author, Mark Bragg, recently released Hard Road, A Leader's Journey Begins. The book is a fictional story about a new leader's journey. It provides a 5 part model to help new and emerging leaders as they begin their leadership journey. Martin is a great friend of mine and mentor. He is the owner of a consultancy business called X-Gap, which focuses on helping Leaders create conversations that produce healthy team performance. We will be releasing this interview in two parts over the next two weeks. The focus of my two part conversation with Martin is his new book and the lessons for emerging leaders. In Lessons for Emerging Leaders: Part 1, Martin shares his experience in the air force, and how it helped him find his passion and transition into his consultancy business. He shares the background to the book, and we dive into the first and most critical part of the 5 leadership challenges for emerging Leaders. Enjoy part 1 of my chat with Martin. 3. The Power of a Leader

3. The Power of a Leader

The Power of a Leader. This is the topic I explore with Jess. Jess is a normal, every day worker. She hasn't held a leadership role, and she does't have any desire to move into a leadership role. What she does know, is how a leader has the power to impact on the work culture. Jess talks about her experiences and the impact a good leader has on creating a positive work culture. We also talk about the impact a bad leader has on creating a negative work culture. We explore the impact of both on her work attitude, her mental health, and the impact it also has on her family. The Power of a Leader is great. With great power, comes great responsibility. We want leaders to use their power for good, which means, creating a positive work culture and a positive work experience for employees like Jess. If you want to help improve the lives of people at work by sharing your story of great leadership or poor leadership, click here to contact Brendan.   If you have any questions for Brendan around this episode or generally around culture, leadership or teamwork, feel free to contact him here. ...

2. How can we work together better?

2. How can we work together better?

How can we work together, better? That's the question Brendan explores with Laura Prael. Laura is the Owner of LEP Digital, a fast-growing digital marketing agency based on the Central Coast, NSW. Laura made a strategic decision to focus on improving teamwork within her organisation. The first step in the journey was to use the DiSC profiling tool. This tools helps to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of every individual. Laura realised this is a key step in the process of achieving a high performing team. After all, it's not the individual skills that matter, it's the interaction between the team members. [caption id="attachment_1163" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] How can we work together better? 1. Josh Rose talks Mariners Culture

Josh Rose talks Mariners Culture with Brendan Rogers. Josh shares his thoughts about culture, leadership and teamwork during his time as a professional footballer at the Central Coast Mariners. We contrast his stints from 2010-2013 when the Mariners were a successful club against the latter part of his career where they may have been considered the 'easy beats' of the A-League.   If you have any questions for Brendan around this episode or generally around culture, leadership or teamwork, feel free to contact him here. ...

Introducing The Culture of Things Podcast

Introducing The Culture of Things Podcast

Introducing The Culture of Things podcast. Did you know, worldwide, only 13% of employees are engaged in their work? This means, there are only 13% of employees who are emotionally invested and focused on creating value for their organisations every day. I have experienced first-hand how ‘poor leadership’ negatively impacts the performance of employees and ultimately limits the growth potential and profitability of the business. This is why I felt the need to bring this podcast to life. My purpose through all of my business activities is to have an impact on improving the lives of people at work.   If you have any questions for Brendan around this episode or generally around culture, leadership or teamwork, feel free to contact him here. ...
